  • Re: Mileage on Your Bird

Since this thread started in July of 2005 we have added 1,800 miles in that year and a half from 6,184 to a current 9,010 miles. Our T-Bird is now 63 months old. That equals out to an average of 143 miles a month. See its not parked all the time. We just go on short trips ! lol

My 2005 Cashmere has 1,189 miles so far. Bought her new in May of 05. Never seen rain and has never been washed. Guess that makes her a Garage Queen. Actually, I drive my 54 Ford Victoria every weekend so I just don't have time for the Bird. #1185/1500

I have to concede the title of "Ultimate Garage Queen" to the 2005 CashmereTBird in Spring, Texas. I have washed my car once, it has been in the rain\snow once even though it was covered, and has over 1250 miles on it as of today. I am going to take it out for a 5 miles trip on Monday--if it doesn't rain!!!!

Looks like your Cashmere has taken over "The Ultimate Garage Queen" of TBN.

Would love to see a pic of your Crown Vic.

Nice to see there's another Cashmere in the Houston area, mine is 632 of 1500.

With less that 1,200 mile guess I won't see you driving around on the weekends.

My TB is not a garage queen. It is an everyday driver, rain, snow,or shine. It just turned over to 30,000 this week.

My 02 has just over 50k and will be 5 years old in February. I am new to this forum and am suprised to see the posts about all of the chronic complaints, I have been fortunate to have had 5 trouble free years, the only thing it has been back to the dealer for other than routine was some sort of recall, I think is was to check the seatbelt mechanism.

I just charged the battery today, so I had a look. 7,808 miles and counting. The way the weather is here in Denver this year, I don't anticipate shouting, "clear prop" until sometime in March or April! After I got her all charged up, I put the cover back on and gave it a "pat" on the bonnet. I know when the weather warms up this year, I am going to make a conscious effort to keep it exercised this year!

I think it would be interesting to update this poll since it was started in 2005. Is there a way to show the results of this poll on a new thread along with a new poll so that we can compare the mileage percentages on our cars as they get older?

My car is also not a garage queen, but we don't drive it as much since we got the Magnum 2 yrs ago. The Magnum has 52,000 miles and the Bird has 58000. Both are great cars.

The only trouble I had with the TBird was a water control valve that causer the driver's side to blow HOT last summer while the passenger's side stayed cold.

Of course, i made Jeannie drive while it was malfunctioning and took back the driving job as soon as it was fixed.
Unbelivable TBN trips including ALL of the lower 48 States plus 9 Canadian Provinces, 8 European Countries, 3 Caribbean Countries, Countless National Parks and have attended well over 100 TBN Events since 2001 and counting. Best of all ... fabulous friends.

Might as well let her drive it,
