A/C On with the top down?

I was driving today with a friend, and they told me it was kind of a waste of energy driving with the top down, and the A/C on. I said I think just about everyone does it in the hot summers...she thinks I am crazy....

When the temp. gets near 90 I leave the top up and run the A/C. Never use the A/C with top down.

If it is hot enough to run the a/c then the top is up.

The only "waste" to driving with the top down, and the AC on, would be to have it on recirculate!

I run the a/c with the top down all the time during July and August here in Virginia. It's rare that I'll put the top up due to it being too hot...it's too much fun with the top down.

I kinda wonder about compressor overload and freeze up when it never gets to recycle... just runs and runs... Maybe Joe Varey knows the answer to that. ?

I do this only on really hot days but that is because I am out of shape and really dont look good with sweat stains on my shirts!!!!!

On rare occasion I have run the AC with top down. I'm with Joe..if it's hot enough for the a/c, the top is up.
Now, on the OTHER hand..running the HEAT with the top down....I've done that MORE than a few times!

I have driven with the top down several times with the air on, however when the temperature gets above 90 I run with the top up.

I just turn the radio up and sweat to the oldies. A good takes care of sweat,

If the sun's out the top's down. It's awfully hot here in Sacramento, so the AC's on.

To really enjoy riding with the top down here in sunny Jacksonville, Florida I will always run the A/C from April through October - In November through March I will leave the A/c off.

When it's really hot, I'll turn the a/c on when I first get in the car or if I get caught at an extended traffic light. Like Karyl I'll drive with the heat on just to be able to have the top down. It's just too much fun!
