Re: It's all in the NickName

    >>To me, it boils down to this: When someone says to you, "Wow... nice car! What is it?" How do you answer? I say, "It's a Thunderbird!"<<

I go with this one Kevin.

Having three TBirds of different years, I have no choice but to use "new TBird" even though the car will soon be three model years old.

Perhaps in the distant future these cars will be refered to as the"NEW" Baby Birds.

It is what it is..."THUNDERBIRD!" The name says it all...to call it anything else just wouldn't do it justice.

I'm afraid that DUH, THUNDERBIRD wouldn't be very flattering to most, and to me infers that a person would have to be stupid to own one.........

By the way, welcome back Ken!
It's hard to soar with T-Birds when you drive amongst turkeys!

I call my 2005 Evening Black a "Tbird" and save the term "Thunderbird" when talking about the originals. It is like calling the first son "jr" instead of the father's entire name. Plus "Tbird" is easier for some of these younger folks to understand as they stand around gawking trying to figure out what type of car a "Thunderbird" is.
