Great game and great win for Texas! As a long time Longhorn fan (from Texas and lived in Austin in '63 when they were champs) it finally felt good to get the monkey off of our backs. It's tough being a Longhorn fan and living in Oklahoma (especially over the previous five years or so).
How about that Vince Young?!!!
21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !
2K2Bird.... Probably just as tuff being an OU fan and living in Texas as a Texas fan living in Oklahoma. Lets see, Texas now has 2 National Championships and OU has, oh I forget, is it 7? Yes, 7. But give the devil his dues, they (Texas) certainly deserved the win last night for they played extremely well on both sides of the ball.
However, Tuesday night I went to the OU vs SMU basketball game @ SMU. The OU fans out numbered the SMU fans. Probably more OU fans in Texas then Texas fans in Oklahoma.

Gotta love that American Ride
He is a talent. But I wonder if he becomes a Michael Vick in the NFL ( a running back in the QB position).
As an Atlanta native I'm in the minority when I say that Mike Vick is VERY overated. He may be flashy and get all the hype but he proved this year that he is indeed a running back playing the QB position. His stats and the team's record bear this out.
Marty,
That was certainly my point that a running QB in college is a ++ but in the pros it is a - - without good passing and talent at running backs and receivers to give the QB confidence so he only thinks about running as a last resort.

IMHO, Michael Vick isn't even a running back.
Ray's right about the draft pick too. QBs last a lot longer in the NFL than RBs. Bush is good and that TD run along the sideline was awesome, but what the he** was he thinking when he tried to lateral the ball to his WR with a 7-0 lead and his team driving for another score?

Young is big and strong (6'5", 233lbs), he's fast, he's smart, and he knows the game. I read somewhere that he either had the highest passing rating or was up there at the top of all Division I college quarterbacks. I can think of a whole lot of NFL teams that could use him right off the bat. I would take Young over Michael Vick any day of the week.

I would too. But Vick (aka Ron Mexico) is the media darling here in Atlanta. Hopefully the Falcons owner has gotten a dose of reality this past season and will build up that pitiful offensive line giving whoever is the QB a little time to get the job done.
It is interesting to note ... that of nearly 3,000 members, only 55 (01.8%) bothered to respond to this poll. Of those 55, over one third did not give a flip about the game, watching the game, or who would win the game.
