Re: Critical Poll - Please VOTE!!!

Who showed up in the Meadowlands today disguised as the Giants? No way did the real Giants show up. So far anyway, they look as bad as Jacksonville looked yesterday. (It's the 4th Quarter, Car. - 20 NY - 0)

      GO BIG BLUE
Well, at least the Redskins won their game. And they were able to dominate "Big Blue" a few weeks ago. True, they didn't look very impressive yesterday [the offense that is], but they were playing against the #1 defense in the NFL. I think you have to admit the Redskins' defense was outstanding yesterday, and won the game for them. Carolina's defense is #3 which explains some of the Giants' troubles today, but the Giants don't have the defense the Redskins do. The characteristic of many of Joe Gibbs' teams over the years has been get a lead, run out the clock on the ground, win by 3...I think we saw a little of that too yesterday. When the Redskins played Tampa Bay back in November, they scored 35 points...and lost by 1...it was an unexpected shootout with two of the best defenses failing to stop the other team's offense.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in Seattle next week, another team the Redskins beat this season. They also beat the other NFC bye team [Bears] this season. Maybe they're not impressive, but they were 5-5 against teams with winning records, and their losses came against quality teams [Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs, Bucs, Giants] except for the Raiders.

As for the Pattycakes and Coldts, I just wish the Pattycakes would go away. They've been the dominant team in the NFL for the past few years, and it's time for some other teams to rise to the top of the heap. I'm tired of Belichick this, Brady that, the new America's team, blah blah blah. I'd like to see the Coldts in the Super Bowl for two reasons...1) they are an exciting team to watch, and 2) I can enjoy a lobster dinner during halftime...that's something Ray and Bruce will understand...and if the Redskins are their opponent, that would be fun for the Redskins fans like me to watch as well.

R.I.P. Bungles...what a sorry way to go. Too bad torn ACL ends the season for Palmer and his team. I picked all road teams, had 3 out of 4 right this week. Yet another division winner bites the dust...

Re: Critical Poll - Please VOTE!!!

I may have hit the wrongkey but I meant to pick the Pats. Never bet against the champs at home!! Anyhow next week will be a tougher one to call because some of the remaining teams are really good. The Colts should be odds on favorites, Denver is spotty, sometimes great and sometimes only good. That Seattle team is still a mystery to me. But they killed our Eagles, 42-0 in Philly, and that has me thinking they may be as good a Division Champ as there is. The Bears are great on defense but their QB is due for a frustrating game. Carolina will probably give them a good game and could win by more than a field goal. The Redskins are playing well but I think they are a little over their heads. And remember never bet against the champs. Many people are tired of seeing them win, but they are like the Energizer Bunny. they just keep going and going and going. We need a new poll, Phil.

Ok Bob we'll give you the benefit of a "geezerhood exception" and give you 4-0 with an asterisk. By the way, note the poll is which teams you are rooting for, not which teams do you think will win the games...therefore, I am also 4-0 with an asterisk...

I'll have the new poll up in a few minutes.

Phil; I'm cheering for whoever plays the Deadskins. Wait till next year. Go Houston.

Giants played all aspects of the game horrorably - Someone must have slipped something into their Gatorade --> man they were just awful. As a Giant's fan that game is up there with the most painful game ever to watch. Time to revise the poll so we can vote on this weekends games

Chuck, it was as painful as it was for Redskins fans during the 36-0 shellacking the Giants put on the Redskins during the Wellington Mara game several weeks ago...that was the only game the Redskins were not in all year long, every other loss went down to the final minute of the game or overtime...

Bill, thanks for your lack of support. That's okay, I'll continue to support the deadskins...but, the Pooston Bleeechsans are light years away from being a good team...no worry about seeing them in the playoffs anytime soon...
