  • Re: Mileage on your Bird (2007)

I'll probably get scolded for this, but last weekend I took the Inca out and gave it a bath and quick detailing. It had not been out of the storage garage since Thunderama held in mid June. I also removed the 18" wheels so I can get new center caps made and have everything bright chromed. Still under 3000 on the OD.

several Inca postings lately so I'll just add another one: ours is not low mileage now - it's at 36,100 now and into the extended warranty. Got the leaking brake booster replaced at 35,977.

So where do you get centercaps made?

Its not easy John. I have to get a local CNC Machine Shop to make them from an existing one. However, they can not make them as is because of the way they were made. Keep in mind these center caps were made for show not for regular driving (as I found out the hard way). They were just glued on and held by sidewall resistance. Anyway that's where I am now. Then after I get them machined, I will send them and the wheels to be 100% bright chromed.

                    Hi there,

Ours is 2003 with 20,111 miles. Planning to use mainly at weekends so hopefully it shoudn't increase that quickly. Gordon.

42000 on the 2002. But only a couple of thousand or so in the past few months.

You are my hero, Rick! You sure know how to enjoy your Bird to the max! I've never been able to understand how keeping a car parked in the garage can possibly be more fun than driving it, but to each their own I guess. You certainly won't go to the "great Tbird show in the sky" wishing you'd have driven your car more! Good job my friend!
