Re: Number of Miles You've Driven Your Bird in One Day

Our longest was 915 miles from our place in Altamonte Springs, FL to our home here in WV. We did that Memorial day weekend 2006 when Tom Aglio hosted the Central Fl cruise. It took us about 13 1/2 hours.

      Sally,
I've done Arlington, WY to home, 900+ miles
      Denver to Homedale, ID -866
      home to Denver - 760

George did the driving when we were caravaning with you to Destin and Redneck Riviera - add another 50 miles to Sally's for George's driving.

We're getting tired of beating ourselves up on these long distance trips so have cut back on daily mileage since.

I was delivering a Hardtop to a Ford Dealer just south of Kansas City, Kansas. From South Lyon Michigan and back I think it was 1600 miles in 26 hrs I will never do that again , hit a Blizzard on the way back. I am close to 111,000 miles now, still running Great. Thanks, Rick

350-ish miles driving home from the dealer where I purchased the Bird. I love driving the car, but hate to see the miles rack up. Maybe I should disconect the odometer.

Re: Number of Miles You've Driven Your Bird in One Day

Our longest one day drive was when we were still living in Georgia and drove the Bird to Toronto, Canada. It is 1000 miles from our door to David's mom's place.

Usually we like to take the extra time and stay off the interstates and take the backroads. We definitely like to stop and smell the roses along the way. The trip is half the fun. People forget that sometimes and are just interested in getting from Point A to Point B, but then again, they are not driving Thunderbirds!!

David and I are looking forward to seeing everyone in Clarksdale, MS and Memphis, TN!!

              Drive safe everyone..................

Cincinnati, Ohio, to David and Malinda's in W. VA. (Morgantown?). I don't know how many miles it was but it was a full day's drive.

418 for me. Elizabeth City, NC to Fayetteville, NC and back to drop my son off at Ft. Bragg. I'm a total wuss though by the end of the day, I could barely sit still in the seat. Much as I love my little car, and its seat is the most comfortable thing for my back that I have to sit in on a daily basis, my sit-upon was very unhappy. Now mind you my 21 year old kept offering to drive on the way down and I kept telling him - what are you crazy, do you think I'm crazy!!!

I'll start with two different trips back from Johnson City, Tennessee to Tahlequah, Oklahoma which were about 875 miles.

Also made it home from Destin, Florida in one day, which is a trip of about 820 miles.

It is 462 miles from Charleston, SC to Charleston, WV. That is enough for one day of driving. Figure 65 miles per hour average including stops for fuel, every 150 miles, lunch after about 4 hours and arrive before it is too dark.
On day 2, 387 more miles to Troy Michigan and a 40 mile drive to Detroit International Airport to pick up George. That's a reasonable drive from Charleston,WV for a single day. I'm not 16 anymore when I drove from Glen Cove, Long Island, NY to Chicago non-stop while my 52 year old Mom and my 57 hear old Dad slept. Now after 10-11pm I want to be in Bed, and that's after a nice meal and a couple Johnnie Walker Blacks!
