Obviously a statement made by a non-runner. The current world's best for the marathon (26.2 miles) is 2:04:55. Do the math... That's a faster pace than most people can do a sprint.

I guess when you've been away from home for a week, a sprint is OK.

Re: Number of Miles You've Driven Your Bird in One Day

I actually have no idea. as to how many miles in one day, but I'll bet I hold the record for one day, two days and three days!

I live on the East Coast, actually RI.

The Thunderbird I had interest in, unfortunately, was in Washington State.

I flew to WA, paid for the car, and left the next day.

This was Friday at 12:00, Noon.

2875 miles later, I arrived at my driveway. This was Monday, Midnight.

I have no interest in doing the math.

I'm just glad I arrived home with the car in one piece.

BTW, the car had 1,500 miles on it when I left at Noon.

It now has 6K. That was one year ago.

            Great car, great people!

Re: Number of Miles You've Driven Your Bird in One Day

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome back! All is fine just a little busy since
I AM one of the younger members here! Kids and work fill my day. I still coach soccer and that takes up 3 nights a week. Last year was a little rough with my 12 year old and and and hormones. I just did not know I was all that stupid as he thinks I am! So, I guess it is my turn to go through the parental right of passage which will bring me another mile closer to you old timers!

Well getting back to topic, the most I drove in one day- about 50 miles! My 2002 is still under 14,000 miles.

Of the two birds, the Inca has traveled the farthest in one day. It went to Carilse, PA to the Ford Nationals in 2006 about 450 miles. The furthest the Red Bird has been in one day is Long Island, NY which is considerably closer.
