Re: Mod vs. No Mod pole

      Hello there,

The only mods I have done so far are to fit Aero rear pipes and a new cold air intake.

If I was to make any cosmetic changes to the car the first thing I would do is to have the plastic looking chrome windshield surround sprayed black to match the body colour. Second, I would have the bright chrome wheels powder coated to a nice gunmetal color and have the plastic chrome grill sprayed to match the new gunmetal wheels. I love the stylish look of the black birds but have always thought the windshield surround kind of looks garish and cheapens the whole look.

After saying that, I still love the look of this car and because of the expense of having these mods done, I will probably live with the existing look.

      All the best, Gordon.

I'd like to hear more about those Aero's, Dak. I admired them on your car when you & I met at David's Blue Ridge Pkwy cruise. Do they slip on or do you have to cut & weld? What dimensions did you order? Where would I get a pair? What else should I know? Thanks ... Will.

Gordon...I'd consider doing the windshield surround in the gunmetal color too.

The only changes I've made to Amadeus:

Painted the wings on the wheel centercaps TBird blue.

Put a "V-8" emblem (from an Explorer) on the wall behind the seats

Added the chrome strip upon which the hardtop rests.

              and, chrome valve stem covers

                  Think I'm almost done. Maybe.
Did the taillights with plastic chrome. Chrome hood scoop. Installed an iPod adapter into the sound system. Replaced rear mufflers with straight pipes. Installed K&N CAI.

Installed the TC Plexiglass Wind Deflector.
                  Uninstalled the Wind Deflector.
                  Too many annoying reflections.

Now if LovetheDrive ever gets a workable bracket to hold their windscreen.......I will install that.

I bought the chrome hood scoop but have yet to get it on the car. Does this count as a half mod?

I ended up going with a PIE FRD03-POD/S(5v)
You can get it at www.ipodcarpros.com/

It is the least beneficial of all the adapters that I have used.
I used one in my 2003 Murano.
I used one in my 2008 Cadillac.
I used one in my 2008 Mercedes.
They all allowed some form of next/last song from the steering wheel.

This one doesn't and it is not even a single button from the radio face to skip songs.

BUT. I will not send it back.

It plays with Best Quality, recharges the iPod that I have laying in the glove compartment, and I can adjust volume from the steering wheel.

This is the only one that I think works.

I am not thrilled, but I am happy.
I can play my Beach Boys while the fuzzy dice are swinging in the breeze, and all is right with the world.
