    Now that is what I call super service by a super TBNer. If only all Ford employees were like Lou, they wouldn't be able to build them fast enough.

      I have a hard time understanding a dealer, not honoring a warranty, they will get paid for their work. I have had great service on the Tbird with the dealers around Hamilton, GA. King Ford in Valley Al and Rivertown Ford in Columbus GA. Several years ago I had a blown engine in a VW Bus, the service manager tried his best to not fix my car under the warranty but I finally got my Bus fixed with a new motor. You have to go over their heads to the owner sometimes.

        I have an '09 Focus that will be reaching its 3-year original warranty limit soon. I am considering purchasing a Ford premium extended warranty if available. Can you help me with getting a warranty for this Ford model at a reasonable cost?

        P.S.: I had an '05 EB that is now deceased (totaled in an accident) & may eventually look for another one.

          Wayne:

          I was talking to my service manager again this afternoon about your situatiion. We really want to help you on this one. Sadly, some dealers will tell you a covered repair is not covered. They will charge you for it and then submit the claim to Ford and get reimbursed. So, what they did is get the same job paid for twice. I really think that is what happened in your case.

          If you send me the repair order they gave you my service manager will be able to determine that.

            Hi Bengal:

            Yes, I am happy to quote you on the FORD PremiumCare ESP for the Focus. You'll find the price extremely reasonable for a Focus. It would be in your best interest to let me set that up for you before it goes past the 3 year or 36,000 mile original maunfacturer's warranty coverage period. I can still do it after the 3/36 goes way, but I have better options if sooner.

              Poor platform? Granted I have only had my T-bird 1.5 years but I have not found anything to call it a poor platform. The only problems i have had are not really surprising considering it is 7 years old. No car is perfect, My T-bird is close though. I bought my ESP with that in mind.

                Because any car is imperfect and when an imperfection becomes a repair bill you're typically very happy you have an ESP.

                FWIW, I have a fried computer module in my office from a Ford car. I sometimes show it to a customer and ask him, "Do you know what this is?" His answer doesn’t really matter, even if he gets it right. I always reply with, No, this is $1700 dollars.

                      Gee - thanks Lou. I'll be sending you the info concerning the PS Pump, etc. They claimed they had talked to the Ford ESP & they had nixed the repair - If they were lying about that I'll be talking to the Dealership owner. I was at a party the other day & he was there but I never bring such stuff up in public. Thanks again for the attention given my complaint I was blowing off steam and planned to cy my complaint to another thread more appropriate to the issue. WLW PS it is Statewide Ford/Linc, Van Wert, OH

                          I wanted to share with everyone an update on what transpired here. WLW sent me the repair bill from his local dealer. My service manager/GM Tom and I reviewed it and we found that the dealer's service department had billed WLW improperly for a covered repair. The problem actually ran deeper than that. My GM spoke to the dealership’s owner to go over what was discovered. That owner is handling the problem internally. We also got back to WLW to tell him what we discovered and what his options would be.

                          I sold WLW his Premium Care ESP and felt obligated to sort this out for him.

                          In this example the ESP was definitely worth the cost, although having to go about it the hard way.

                              I had the pleasure of speaking to Lou earlier this week about the Ford ESP. After a brief conversation, I purchased the ESP on the spot. Lou is offering a great service to TBN members. Thank you Lou.

                                Thanks for that. I really don't feel it is doing anything extra. He got his Premium Care ESP from me and I am not about to let a dealership employee rip off one of my good TBN customers.
