I wanted this car since 1957 and when the retro came out it was a chance to finally get my dream car. I would not have purchased the 55-57 at this date due to challenge of finding parts

By seeing the poll result right now with 4 respondants, how come Tbirds cars are sold on eBay if everybody would like to keep it? There are others reasons to sell it and this is what I am looking for.

Is this any car or our Thunderbirds? The reason I ask is because the survey has a answer that states because I would like to buy a new one with Warranty. There are no new T-Birds??

My choices would be to sell it when it gets too expensive to maintain, or when finding replacement parts becomes an issue.

Assuming the above don't become serious issues, then I'll sell it when I can no longer drive safely.

The future is just too hard to predict.

Probably the old 80/20 rule.

80% of the owners look at their car as a car and will get bored and replace them without a thought. [E-bay]
They are not the owners here that would answer your poll.

The other 20% are the Tbird nuts that belong to our group, so you will not get a valid overall result just questioning this group.

Sadly A very small percentage of retro owners ever look at this site, but the few I have met are split about the car. Most of the owners I have seen who look at it as more than transportation are older

The only reason I would sell it is when I can no longer find parts. THe computer would be my main reason. I would like to get a baby bird in the future, parts are easier to locate.

I wouldn't own one of these cars with out the Ford Premium ESP. I plan on keeping mine untill I can't extend it any longer. At that point I'll sell it and hopefully get most of my investment back and maybe buy another roadster. I promised my Wife when I bought the TBird that this was my last hot rod, but we'll see, she's pretty foregiving. Leroy

The only reason we would sell is because of lack of use and need.
If we thought about the cost per mile it would make sense not to keep it.
500 miles annually/ depreciation, insurance at $800.00 a year and some misc. stuff.

I checked other. If "Annie" was in a bad accident and I was OK, rather than just repair it and keep driving it, I would sell it and buy another low mileage 2005, perhaps a red one.
Not that I don't like Black, just for a change of attitude.

I voted "never sell", because I never tire of my retrobird, and the mods are a reflection of my vision of how the car should look. But I am wise enough to respect the phrase "never say never"..... however this car is truly the first I can still say after 5 years - it's a keeper....

I was saying to buy a new one car under warranty and whathever the car is.You might expecting to replace your Tbird by a new fresh model other than a Tbird.
