Not lots of money, just stupid when I was young. Fortunately, I mad mone or broke even on most of my cars. I never kept them long enough to fill an ashtray!

I've had 103 cars (counting the '02 Bird, '03 F-150 and '02 VW Pasaat that we now own). First one was the "coolest" though - '59 Bird that I bought, when I was 15, for $140.00 from a guy in Greenwich, CT. Altogether, I've had roughly 35 Birds over the years - mostly Big Birds ('64-'66).

Please tell me about your Jag X. ( pre-owned)
My wife really wants one mainly for the name JAG, been a dream of hers to own a Jag.
It is a beautiful car BUT it seems damn near impossible to get one w/ a CD player.( a VITAL necessity) For some reason euro-builders don't like CD players. I hear that an aftermarket CD player is near impossible due to the dash and wiring config.
Any thoughts ????

Can buy a CD changer 6 or 10 that can mount in the glove box or trunk and play through your existing system. Any auto stereo store that does installs can tap into the existing system easerly and do a perfessional job. You just won't have the convenience like the bird that its built into the dash.

My first car was a 1951 Henry J.

I bought it used when I was in high school, 16 years old, for the amazing price of $125. It was worth the high price because it had less than 50k miles and all the routine service receipts were available.

...my first car was a 1960 Vauxhall Victor.....for a 100 bucks.....the last owner had installed a single daytime running light on the centre of the grill.....remember that craze?....It was a great first car.....sold it for a 100 bucks......My first new car was a 1968 Cougar......loved that car....they still look good today.......
