    Freedom Blue

Remember, it's not French Blue, it's Freedom Blue!

I voted for VMG, but if it were strictly a blue poll the choice would be Dark Pearl Blue Metallic as found on the Explorer/Explorer Sport Trac/(Sport.... BRING IT BACK NOW!!!!!!!)

Are there examples of these colors elsewhere on this forum (with the exception of VMG)? And what is the reason we are voting?

        Thanks.

Ford should stick with the orginal colors. Go VMG!

            Blunbird,

Looks like the main reason we're being given the chance to vote is that Thunderbird Blue owners seem to think that another light blue will somehow steal their "thunder". Seems a little insecure to me, since almost all Thunderbird Blue owners are convinced they bought the ultimate T-bird color. Torch Red and Black owners don't worry about it as they know that their colors are carried over because they are the true colors of sporty vehicles (ha!).

Actually, 2k2, Ford has realized that Blue, whether it be Thunderbird Blue or Desert Sky Blue has been their biggest seller and they are trying to find a way to produce another blue that the public will accept.

                BLUNBIRD,

With that logic, why don't they just reissue to Teal (Thunderbird Blue) possibly with new interior colors?

I don't think any colors specific to a certain year should be repeated. Kind of defeats the purpose. If I owned a VMG I might be happy to see them retire that color with a limited amount produced. The only problem I really have with adding a new color midyear is that I feel like they're using left-over Explorer (or another car) paint. Seems like they could come up with something unique to Thunderbird, and not used on any other car they make (like they did with Thunderbird Blue and VMG.) Even the PCC will be the same color as the Tundra that many other cars are.
The Thunderbird shouldn't have to have hand-me-down colors.
Thunderbirds are unique. And so should the colors be.

I kinda liked the old rule. Three base colors and two unique colors per model year. Too many choices. IMHO
If they want to spice it up a little, then throw in some horsepower options.

Well, rumor has it that the 50th Anniversary Limited edition will be a gold supercharged model. The Mustang is a better car for those interested in hot rods.

I would have liked a different color for the PCR, too. This flavor of green looks like Spruce Green used on the Taurus and (aarghh!!!)
                      Windstar a few years ago.

A blue colorchart simulation would be nice.
