    Re: Young Girl, Old Car

Saw this on the local news this morning (so I wont vote), but I could see how this could happen.
Do you know the difference between education and experience?
Education is when you read the fine print; experience is what you get when you don't.

I couldn't believe it sold for only $202. It looks to me like the parts alone are worth a $1000.

I owned a couple of Sprites. The oldest was a Mark III (not a Frog Eye). They are very easy to work on. I bought the Mark III in pieces and put it together in the parking lot of my apartment. I once changed the head gasket on the side of the Raleigh Beltline. I could pull the engine and transmission out in an hour or less by myself (with a crane -they pretty much had to come out together). It was a good thing it was easy to work on becasue it needed to be worked on a lot. The Mark III was a roadster. You didn't fold the convertible top to open it - you took it apart. You took the canvas off the frame and then took the frame off the car and folded it up. The canvas and frame fit in the trunk. I also had a Mark IV "Convertible." The Mark IV had a folding convertible top (non-power of course).
