    Re: Top On- Top Off

Our hard top has only been on twice in the past 6 years since we moved to Fl. and that was to drive up to Atlanta in Feb. for the yearly lunch. The soft top works just fine using the air. I can't understand why people put the hard top on because of heat. It's just a personal preference I guess.

      Re: Top On- Top Off

I voted based on mood, but 99% of the time my mood is top off.

This month's TOTM picture is the rare exception with the top on. That couple of weeks was the only the only time it's been on in the past 8 years or so.

        Re: Top On- Top Off

I voted based on the mood, but it is mostly off in the winter in Florida and mostly on during the rainy humid summer. BUT that is why I have the lift installed. It is a 10 minute job putting it off or on. Personally I think it is much better looking with the top on and looks no better than any other vert with the top off........But that's just a personal opinion and is very subjective.

          Re: Top On- Top Off

I was really confused and had no idea we were talking about T-Birds. I thought this was an end-of-summer poll on what we mostly saw at the beach.

            'ALWAYS ON' for UV protection.
I prefer the look as well so there is no hardship there .

              Re: Top On- Top Off

Ours usually goes on late October after Indian Summer & most of the colorful leaves are gone. Then in early March when our winter season is over I take the HT back off. I switch to the HT due mostly to the high dirt level in our air during winter months, mix that with some snowfall or the usual drizzle and the cloth top get very dirty. it is easier to just wash the HT top then get the dirt out of the soft top.

                Re: Top On- Top Off

Intent was to put top on in heat of summer, but just never happens. We get nice days in the winter and if it is really bad out the bird stays in the garage. Even had top down with it snowing, good heated seats

                  Re: Top On- Top Off

I voted always on. I do take the top off occassionally, but I think the car looks it's best with the hardtop on it. In the summer, it's almost too hot for driving around in a convertible even at night. The best time for a convertible here is in the fall or late spring (too much pollen in March).

My hardtop stays on most of the time, just because I like the looks with it on.
But in the winter, storage time, I take it off so as to keep the soft top stretched and looking new.

Wow, in spite of some strongly expressed opinions here, it appears weather/temperature DOES have an impact on when most of us use the top...who'd have thought?!

So glad this was a multiple-choice poll. I always have one top off, one top on so I can enjoy whichever I choose on any particular occasion. Currently Goldilocks has her top on, Moondoggie is top off. Been that way for well over a year now; maybe two. I need to swap out soon (but not before getting a new soft-top for MD - I'm getting what Bradford has).

It has been a nice fall so far in central NC. I'll probably put the hardtop on the first week of November and leave it on until mid to late March.

I don't think any one in Vegas has EVER seen 007 with the top on. It is in the garage, on the stand with the cover over it.
