There are a lot of folks doing this as a business. We first need to get a working design and colors, etc. I vote to get the highest quality we can. I really don't want junk on the car. Prices vary greatly and are based mainly on volume. With less than 100 interested the price will be steeper. Still should come in around $20.

I've been thinking about the design and colors this afternoon. Looking at the grill, it is a large area of reflective chrome. Now, traditionally a medallion is more gear like in design and only silver would look right, not gold on a Bird. But I think this would be lost, blending in to the grill, the grill is also busy looking. So I thought more like a "button" with a thin chrome ring with either a white or turquoise background and a reflective chrome bird, with TBN on the background field. The bird could stay within the button or have wings that extend beyond like JerryP's.
I would say white would be a more universal color for it should go nicely with all color Birds with TBN in turquoise. Turquoise might not look so good on the silver or grey colors. A chrome/reflective background I feel will blend into the grill as well and get lost.
A round shape may be more preferably due to the round supplemental lights near where we will probably mount these, oval could throw off symmetry.
I think we all want it to complement and not take over and stick out like a beacon. Yet after going through the trouble and expense we don't want it to get lost and notice it only when we clean and dry this lovely grill!!
Just my humble views on the topic. Any chance we can get this figured out and produced in time to have them for the Vegas meet in March??
Happy holidays to all, just something to think about over the next couple days.
Jerry, I agree with you 100%. Whatever design we agree upon, I want it made of the highest quality. Nothing of any less goes on my car. If it costs $40 or $50, then so be it. Heck, we've all spent more then that on collecting die cast cars.
Todd,
All very good points. I can see this is not going to be easy!!
btw... Where's Phil? He designed a great TBN logo, wonder what he could do here...
I asked Justin if he had a copy of the font that is used at the top of each page but he no longer has it. I'll look to see if I can find something similar and change the font if I find one. Anyway, here is an idea.
Hi Dino, I'm here, see post #98. But...I like Jerry's idea in post #113, except I would do away with the horizontal bar at the bottom, place a miniature of the TBN script logo (just the script, in black) I designed centered in the upper half background, and the ThunderBirdNest.com type (in black) in a semi-circle inside the bottom half background.

I don't know how big you guys are talking about making this but I wouldn't put a big obvious one on my car. How about a smaller rectangular shaped medailion made to fit into one of the grill check openings?
