Looks like the best one I have seen so far. What do you guys think, can we get started on this so we will have them made and ready to go before March. Would be nice to have them out to the members so they can be on their cars before most of the events and gathering start this year.

Something Else to Consider

Are the wings on the medallion going to have the turquoise inset like the emblem pictured?

I'm sure that a solid material/color would be less expensive, and adding any color, either to the wings or the lettering, is going to add cost.

That's where the cost analysis will come into play I suppose.

Also, how is the funding going to raised for the initial batch and the casting? Is one person going to fund it, and then sell them to other members, or how is that going to work?

It would make sense to me that whoevers does it, might want to make an initial batch of 100 and put the unsold ones in "the store" where people can easily see and buy them.

post 212 rocks... consider shrinking the bird so the wingtips fit just inside the porthole. it can still be raised but wont get caught on stuff. also i am pretty sure yall decided on having thunderbirdnest.com on it. i just want to say im for that. it is the whole point to spread awareness of our group. also i think that whoever aranges the purchase should consider using the emblem as a money raising tool for the site. not in the store so much as a "contribuiting member award" kinda like PBS does. i know im not one to talk but im getting around to it... maby "sell' them for the cost + $20 unless you already are a contributing member already. who knows maby we will get out of charging tax this way!!! hehe just a thought.... -drew

I'm guessing this is going to be the basic look/design. So wings inside the PH or extend outside the PH? I don't think I can make one with wings inside since this was an actual emblem placed on the actual PH of my Bird. I really don't think it will be an issue from a breaking or snagging point, just what looks better. Finally when a manufacturer is chosen we will have to see the cost of: multicolored medallion, wings inside or out (for cost and stength), palstic vs. metal...

I think you are right , it is ready to get quotes. Wing inside or out and colors will get ironed out with the info and cost quoted.
Personally I would like the wings protected in the diameter of the madallion but its just personal preference. Either way I want at least one.
Again you did a super job and very creative using the hardtop, porthole and emblem.

I think raised letters, done if FORD script, would look the best too (at the very least the ThunderBirdNest.com part of it).
