    Ron,
    Are you going to use http://toprenew.com/ to dye your top? I emailed them about same time you did according to reply I received. I don't want to dye my Sand top, just want to clean and renew. What do you think of their product?

        Factory on the 2005 MSB with the partial blue interior. Could also show up on a Silver with the partial blue interior.

          The merlot top really complements the color of your car.
          Unbelivable TBN trips including ALL of the lower 48 States plus 9 Canadian Provinces, 8 European Countries, 3 Caribbean Countries, Countless National Parks and have attended well over 100 TBN Events since 2001 and counting. Best of all ... fabulous friends.

            I voted black.

            For me, I've barely used my soft top in 12 years of retro Thunderbird ownership. I either run the car with the hardtop on or off. I could probably count the number of times I've used the soft top on either of my cars on one hand.

              I voted for BURGUNDY as my bird is MERLOT. I have a brand new sand /TAN/ top which is very hard to keep clean. BLACK is probably the safest bet overall.
              VIEW EVERYTHING WITH ALARM, BUT DO NOTHING ABOUT IT !

                Black & pink is a very retro color combination.

                Also, I bet you would get the most even results with the dye if you went with the black.

                  I know pink and black make a nice combination, but this is not your usual pink. We decided the black hardtop was not as nice on this car as was the body color. We are thinking the merlot top will blend better.

                      Right now I have a cashmere, which we use most of the time, a black, a sand, and an ash.

                        No doubt the pink hard top looks great. For that matter, the black hard top looks great. I think the car looks great both ways. I'll even go so far as to say I like the car better than 90% of the factory colors.

                        The Merlot soft top will look great, especially if a very dark burgundy shade. I just happen to like the black. The sand soft top that is on it, doesn't look bad, but it definitely doesn't look as good as the other two. I'm glad you're going to change it.

                        Since you asked for opinions I gave you mine, which at this point corresponds to the majority of the folks that have voted. According to the pole, black is leading 2 to 1 over the burgundy. I'm curious, do you ask these things just to validate your opinion (which you are going to go with anyway) or do you really want input?

                        Whatever you do, I hope you can get it done before Pappasito's and you bring the car for us to check it out.

                          We were leaning toward the black until we asked Gene to photo shop the merlot. There still might be an issue with the merlot, but we are willing to take a chance. Like the poll on the hardtop, I was leaning toward the white or cashmere until someone suggested body color, Gene came through with a photo shop of the dusk rose top and that was that. I am just finishing the 1978 Pace Car and the hardtop will be on the Dusk Rose for another month or so. Soft top color should be changed by June.

                              Will look forward to seeing how it turns out in Michigan. Guess if you go with the Merlot and it doesn't meet your expectations, you can always go with black.
