  • ThunderbirdNest Connectivity

I am posting a poll to help some folks narrow down the problem for getting on the website. We have many members out there that have contacted me about their connection. Some have experienced the problem for over 24 hours and continue to be unable to gain access. Most appear to be AOL users. In the poll, I am looking for AOL ability to connect to the site.

Folks, please participate is this poll. The more data points the better.

Note: Justin, maybe you can look into what is causing this outage.

For me it started Wednesday. It was Thursday at about 1:00pm before I was able to connect via IE6, but I still can't connect using AOL.
I realize AOL uses IE for the browser, but I think it is a different Proxy server.

I am not sure what the problem is guys. Im sure it has something to do with our domain name changing DNS servers. You dont have to know what im talking about, but we are planning a server swap for the later hours of today. From there it could be hours or even a few days before everything is back to normal. Again i appoligize.

              Justin,

For what it's worth, I can navigate around the Nest, EXCEPT to the Home Page using the link at the top. When I do that, I get this msg:

              Not Found
The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server.
              --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
              Apache/1.3.27 Server at www.thunderbirdnest Port 80

Hope this helps sort things out.

I use Internet Explorer (Microsoft) to access sight, haven't been able to get on all day until just now, and then only by going through Dot's site first (Thanks Dot!). I also cannot access the home page of this site, even though I am on site (obviously!).

Since my post abt a half-hour ago, I can navigate to Home without problem. So just do like the techs at the office: Act like you did whatever you did on purpose and take the credit!

                        Is anybody connecting through aol?
We have both aol and internet explorer via cable..earlier today before we were able to get on TBN I tried thru every "door" I could think of..aol, no aol, IE, Dot's site, Mark501's Site, Blunbird and captain ken's site and even through the TBN store, which I could access without problem, including the Emporium, but could not get it to access TBN forums/homepage in any direction. Fortunately, we finally got on later this afternoon via IE.At that time aol still was not accessing.I IMed my son at college and he couldn't access anything either..they have a LAN at his school. I spoke with RedBirdSal several times this afternoon...she has aol and never has gotten on.
I'm going to try to send her a link INSIDE the forums and see if she can get in that way.
??Must something about accessing the homepage??

ok..when i went on aol Sally had emailed me and said she got on.

I DID copy the link to the above post and put it in the 'address' spot and pushed GO....lo and behold! it took me right to it!!
SO--if you know someone that isn't able to access right now, email them a link INSIDE the forums and they can get in that way.

(Pat my back!--I feel just like a computergeek!!)

                            AOL

I got rid of AOL years ago. I don't know if it's THE problem, but it's A problem if you ask me!

We used to call it SOL five or so years ago when people were fighting just to get onto to their service and not get booted off, and some people would maintain their connections 24/7 in case they couldn't get back on!

I won't give up my cable connection now for anything, unless their service and price go all to shame.
It's hard to soar with T-Birds when you drive amongst turkeys!

                              Jerry....

This is Jeannie on David's Computer. I can get onto the nest from his computer, but I cannot get onto the Nest with my computer which is on Cable same as his and is about 3 feet away.......Go Figure!!

Gonna try KarylP's suggestion and e-mail myself a link from his computer.....
