Darn,
I actually voted incorrectly!
The answer should have been #4 not #2. I can get on just fine at home tonight, couldn't for the past two days, and now the firewall at work blocks me from gaining access.
It must be something regarding whatever changes were done to TBN in the last day or so.

I'm on MSN, regular dial-up. working fine now.

I can connect to TBN with my XP machine fine, but I was having trouble connecting via my Win2K laptop. I changed Explorer internet settings back to a default and everything is ok now. Is is possible that TBN added some "feature" that is prohibited by the Explorer settings that are changed by most security software?

We have SBC/DSL using Explorer at home and I am not sure what we have at school but I have not been able get on at either spot since Weds. This is the first time I had a chance to log on so it may have gotten straightened out last night.

But it's good to be back in the know about our birds. I was starting to go through withdrawls.

At home I use verizon DSL with Netscape and have had no problem getting on. At work I use a T1 with MSN and have had differculty getting on for the first time most of the day Wednesday. Last night I could not get on at either place but I think maintenance and server change was going on.

Justin made a DNS server change which is the thing that specifies which server, out of all the servers on the internet, contains the TBN web site. That change has to be propogated throughout the world and can take up to 72 hours or so. If you're lucky your ISP is aware of the change within a couple of hours but it ain't necessarily so. Keep trying!

Now that I think about it... If you're reading this you're in and don't need to try again later!

I have two set ups. On one machine, AOL will not let me in at all.
Right now I'm on my Verizon machine and no problem.

I tried again and still cannot get on via AOL. Thanks to my wifes verizon line I am able to get on her machine when she's not around.

Does anyone know if this is an AOL problem? Are other AOL people locked out?

Hi George,
I'm using AOL dialup. Was locked out for for about 18 hrs begining Wednesday AM, able to get back in mid-afternoon Thursday. Other than losing a few posts, no problems since.

I have AOL dial-up and have experienced no recent problems. I usually log on at least once in the evening from home.

I also had a brief time where I could not get to the site. Was only concerned due to other message about postings. Glad to see the site is back as it has been a great help to me. I also work in IS and need to keep reminding that sometimes transparent changes are the ones which show the most. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
