  • Grill Badge Update

If you are thinking about ordering a TBN Grill badge, then please read on:

Sorry about the delays but things are gaining momentum as I type. We have submitted our artwork to the manufacturer and setup procedures are being put into place. I expect to place the order in the very near future, so please don't delay. OK, here's where I need your help and attention.

To place the order, I must first have a fairly accurate number of badge orders. I am posting a poll, so that you can indicate how many you plan to purchase. Please note that voting does not place your order, but only gives me a number estimate. I you don't plan to order then it is not important that you vote, in fact, you will only insert errors into the estimate.

PLEASE DON'T VOTE IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO ORDER!!!

Why is this important? I must first have a fairly accurate number to set the price. I recognize that it is hard to tell me how many, when you don't know how much it will cost. All I can tell you is that it will cost anywhere from $17 to $35 dollars. The more badges that we order, the cheaper they will be.

Once we have the number, I will let everyone know the final price. We will then email every member and send you an order form that will list all the details necessary to order and pay for the badge.

Please give this attention as soon as possible, let's get our order placed in the near future. I'm ready to get one of these.

Hope you like your TBN Grill Badge

Jerry: the last line (or lines) of Note 1, and possibly the other notes are cut off on the image. Can you stretch it out on the bottom or just tell us the rest of the story?
      Thanks...

You're correct Joel. I would have 7 or more options on the vote. Since the patches will be comparatively cheaper than the badge, I will assume that most folks will want a patch. Right now, I really interested in the number of badges. Patches will come later. I'm glad that you pointed that out, and I'll handle the patch issue separately.

Black field inside of porthole will be black with small grooves for texture. Colors are accurate, except for white equals chrome. I might as well add that the badge will be three inches in diameter.

Jerry P - way cool. I will purchase one (1) and have voted as such on the poll. How did you decide to mount the badges ... long threaded post sticking through the grill opening with a backing nut behind the grill, or some other method? Alan:hail: :hail: :hail:

                          Jerry P.

Just a little information before I vote or "order", in a sense.

Are the letters going to be embossed, and is the image or logo going to be extruded? Also, what will the back be like? More specifically, what will be the means of attachment?

Will there be a stud cast into the medallion, or will there be a threaded hub that a bolt or rod can be screwed into?

                          Thanks!

The letters will be cast with the background, effectively embossed and the emblem will be a second part and carry the screw for attachment. It will sit upon the backing plate adding a 3 dimensional effect. The red lettering and features are engraved on the bird. These are really two separate castings. I felt that most folks could engineer any mechanism for attachment and fix it to the stud. That would accommodate those who preferred the tie-wrap method. For me, I prefer the attachment method where a washer is placed behind the grill openings and attached from the back using a wingnut. I've also heard from another club that the badge can be tightened from behind, effectively, by going up through the bottom valance. I was able to tighten mine from the front on the grill. For guys with less manual dexterity, you may have to enlist the assistance of someone with smaller fingers.

I have total confidence that you can engineer a way.

I hope this answered your questions.
