Could we re-do the survey and have everyone respond with their birth year rather than their age at the time of the poll? The responses could be displayed by year, or still be grouped in 5 year intervals. Either way, the poll would always be current with the exception of the addition of new members and deletion of those who have moved on.
Since most of the current members have gray hair (if they have any), I would think most most new members would not be adverse to revealing their birth year at the time they join, especially if they perceived themselves as part of a youth movement. They could be added to the poll.
I have no thoughts on how to keep track of members who have moved on.
