  • Long Time Member Wes McMillan Dies

Wes McMillan (Wesbird) died early Saturday morning. Wes had been a TBN member since July 2002. He ordered his Neiman Marcus from the catalog and still has the car.
Memorial service will be at Hillside United Methodist Church in Woodstock, GA on Tuesday, December 17 at 2:30 pm.

Sorry, his TBN name was “wesmc”. In her time of grief, his wife wasn’t sure which name he used and I misquoted.

I knew Wes well for many years. This is sad news. Not sure but think him and his wife attended the very first TBN event at Destin Fl. They had the only NM there.

Hmm.....I just did a membership search. There is no one registered with the handle Wesbird. I've been on TBN since 2003 and don't recall seeing that name or handle.

Regardless, my condolences to his family and those here who met him somewhere along the way.

Thanks. I searched wesmc and it looks like he was a very infrequent poster. He had 53 posts total and the last one was in January 2017.

Condolences to his wife Janet and family. Wes and Janet were early members and always came to Pappasito's up until a few years ago.

This is the only decent picture I've been able to find. This was Wes, (red shirt) at Papasito's 9 in 2011. IMG_5717.JPG

We went to the Memorial service for Wes yesterday. One of the items Janice had on display was the model of his Neiman Marcus along with a 2004 TBN calendar opened to the month Wes has won. It was interesting looking through the old calendar. Some of the other winners that I recognized were Bill Green, Margaret Cain, and Dennis Christensen. The calendar was printed by Marietta Ford and said "Don't forget to ask for your ThunderbirdNest discount". The only person I recognized in any of the photos was Spence.

I am saddened to read this news. Wes and Janice were some of the first members I met at TBN events.

We have made a donation to Thunderbird Nest in memory of Wes. He was the first person to tell us about TBN. He loved his car and the friends and adventures (including the adventure of ordering it from the Neiman Marcus catalog) that the car provided.
