It is with heavy heart to announce that one of the founding members of Thunderbirds of Las Vegas and one of the very early TBN members Karen Collins passed away on Tuesday January 24, 2023. Karen was a very giving person. RIP.

So sorry to hear this. Karen and Gene were second only to Bill Green as TBN members we have met in person. We met them in the summer of 2002 in Joplin, MO while they were part of the Thunder On 66 tour event. I'll never forget their novel idea of using the entire trunk as a suitcase, just grabbing the next day's clothes out of it when the needed them.
We were lucky to visit with them at subsequent events over the years including Desert Thunder II, which they helped plan and host. Even after Gene's untimely passing Karen continued to participate in TBN events when she could, despite health issues. As Lon said, she was a very giving person.
RIP Karen, our lives were enriched by knowing you and Gene.

I was so shocked to read about Karen’s passing, we kept in touch and last spoke in December or early January. We became friends back in 2002 when they came to Michigan and enjoyed many fun times. We were blessed with being named godparent’s to their 007, walking it thru its Wixom production. We created the baby book that Karen treasured. We visited in California, Nevada, and several unforgettable times in Hawaii. Karen was a beautiful, giving, friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
