Re: Seattle is ready for Green Bay

I'm with you Phil. The Green Bay loss was beyond disappointing. They really snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Seattle won, but it was a very 'ugly' win (I know, they'll take it). Yes they pulled out a miracle, but they'll have to play better than they did today to beat New England.

The Pats and Colts game was a blowout. I quit watching when the score got to 24-7 and switched over to Downton Abbey.

I don't care for either of the SB teams either.

Congrats to both winners. However you manage it, a win is a win.

I'll be skipping this Super Bowl as well. No interest in the outcome at all. I'll catch the commercials on the internet.

You wanna talk about edge of your seat stuff. The ending of that Seattle Green Bay game was amazing. You just gotta scratch your head about some of the stuff Green Bay did - 2 4th & 1s on the 1/2 yard line & you kick field goals? Maybe the 1st time. And on that last Russell Wilson interception, why did that dude lay down? He had at least 15 yards with no one around him, that would have put GB in field goal range, instead they went 3 & out? On the drive to tie the game - they get the to Seattle's 40 yard line in 45 seconds, then run the ball twice and throw a 5 yard pass? Really? An epic collapse that will be talked about for years to come.
Ray, you probably won't see this because I'm sure you're pretty disgusted by now, in my wildest dreams I never thought that New England would just beat the hell out of the Colts like that. Wow
One thing I do have to say, looks like the NFL did have a bit of a come to the rock discussion with the officials. There were very few pass interference, illegal contact and defensive holding calls in the 2 games. There were a couple of plays in the New England Colts game where the Colts defenders were all over the New England receivers that weren't called.

Seems like this could finally be a Super Bowl worth watching. Perhaps both teams will be competitive for change.

The Super Bowl could be a good game. Definitely has the potential to be. As a long time Colts fan I knew it would be tough for them to win in NE as the Colts are three or four players away from being real contenders. I was surprised they got their arses kicked that badly though. It might take another two or three years, but the Colts will get their revenge on NE. They went farther this year than most expected. Although I don't have a horse in the race and probably won't watch, I will be rooting for Seattle.

Nothing new, Gene. The Pats are famous/infamous for pushing the envelope.....everything from spying, illegal taping, stealing plays. I'll be one of the happiest people in America when their fall from the top occurs, and it will.

They cheated their way to winning the SB against my Eagles following the 2004 season. Can't wait to see them go down. If this latest charge is proven, they should be disqualified in favor of the Colts. Losing draft picks is a joke.

The thing is, the Colts got whooped. They could have played the game with bean bags and it wouldn't have changed the outcome, but I'll never understand why the Pats feel they have to cheat to win. They're good enough to win within the rules. But no dynasty lasts forever and when they fall, I will be at the head of the line cheering!

I'm not sure if I'll watch the game either, I just hope I win one of the pools I'm on back at home in Indiana. My Wife and I are spending the Winter here in California, I'm sure we'll find something better to do.

Note that the source for this allegation is a Colts homer.

They spent a lot of time talking about this subject on Mike and Mike this morning. Given what teams are allowed to do to the footballs, this is a minor issue at best. The officials had possession of the footballs prior to the start of the game and at half time, so if they were "deflated" it would have to occurred on the sidelines. Seems unlikely but I suppose we will have to wait for the final word from the league. Mostly it is more fodder for the Patriots haters. I am not a Patriots fan, but I don't hate them either (well except I rooted against them in every game this year that I had to watch them play in).

Personally I hope the Seahawks win the "Big Game" but if they play like they did for 50 minutes yesterday, they'll be so far behind that they will never win.

Yeah, the record books will only show the final score of yesterday's Seahawks/Packers game, but for 50 minutes they played terribly. The turnovers, lack of offense. They pulled it out, but even the Seattle players knew it was a miracle.

The onside kick that bounced off the Packer player's helmet while he groped wildly for the football was straight out of a Three Stooges short. I've never seen a team fall apart so badly with under five minutes to go.

It was a spectacle. Imagine how many people watching on TV changed channels and missed the finish.
