Not quite...15 compared to Alabama's 17, as of today. Princeton has 28 ( claimed ) if you want to go back as far as 1869. Honestly Greg, I don't think many NDSU's starters could make the Alabama scrimmage squad. Comparisons are pointless.Originally posted by BLACK BEAUTY View PostNDSU 38 Eastern Washington 24..way to go Bison..better record than Alabama?

Hard to say Ric. I believe that NDSU currently has 9 players in the NFL. Interestingly they have 9 players on the current squad from Florida! It will be interesting to see if Easton Stick gets drafted. He is a post graduate student with a 4.0 GPA and may have other plans. He does have the best record ever in the FCS...GO BISON!

It's easier to be a big fish in a small pond. Time for NDSU to move up to the big leagues if they want to be really taken seriosly. There are smaller schools in Div. 1 than NDSU. I believe Stanford only has about 7000 undergrads and they compete pretty well.
A month later only the hometown fans care who won in Triple A. It's an accomplishment for sure that NDSU has been successful over the past few seasons, but in the end very few people care.21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !

Paul, they can't just move up, even if they wanted to. They have to meet FBS bylaws and be invited to join, which neither is anywhere near the horizon. NDSU would have to sponsor two more athletic programs of some sort to qualify. They would have to increase annual athletic grants to 200 per year vs the current 60 or so. They would have to commit that 60% of their games would be against FBS opponents and at least five of them at home per year ( good luck with that ) Then you have Broadcast contracts etc: that have to agree to go to Fargo ND to a 20K seat stadium ( LOL ) They will remain that big fish in a little pond for a long long time. Could they compete with FBS teams? Some of the 130 of course they could, there are a lot of 2 and 9 or 3 and 10 FBS teams. Could they compete with SEC, ACC, Big 10 - 12 or Independents that continually have 10, 11 or more wins per season? Greg, you might want to consider a time share in Frisco Texas as that's where all of their championship games will take place for a long time.Originally posted by 2K2BIRD View PostIt's easier to be a big fish in a small pond.
