Add Torino, Festiva, Elite, Tempo, Escort, Granada, Freestyle, Windstar, Freestar, Five Hundred, Probe, EXP to the list.

BRONCO and RANGER are both slated to return in the next couple of years.

Since Mullally is gone, Taurus may be on life support, especially if they don't update the American version soon.

You guys are overlooking 2 very significant extinct Fords. They are famous for different reasons ---- The Model A and the Pinto.

The Windstar, the Freestar, The Freestyle and the Aerostar. My wife loved her Freestyle. All of these are gone and maybe rightly so.

Not including its namesake, but I think the Mustang II has to join this list. My grandmother had one. At the same time, my cousin (same grandmother) had a Mach 1 that he was rebuilding and (as I recall) put a 428 Cobra Jet engine in. As a kid at the time, I had a hard time seeing the Mustang connection between the two. One was very well suited to my grandmother's driving habits and easy on the gas consumption. The other scared the hell out of me (in a good way) when my cousin floored it!

Was at the local Ford dealer yesterday and they were talking about the end of the Taurus within the next year.

                Right on, Gary.

The word "extinct" in this context is obviously incorrect. Extinct means no longer exists and I believe there are many examples in existence of every car mentioned in this thread - so far.

"Orphaned" is probably a more appropriate designation.

                    I would go with "discontinued".

You are probably correct, but I have to say, I don't see many Cortinas or Pintos around here.
