Sorry folks , I've been a little busy BUT I found a new addition to my cleaning process. I now use Spray and wash before the steam. It worked very very nicely without spending a mess of steam time. Good luck my friends and thank you for your positive comments on You tube

Good to read that this process is doing the job. It's been a pain to clean for years for owner of light tops.

I did this with my PCR soft top this past weekend and the results were very good. I do note that the bristles of the brushes that came with the steamer are pretty stiff and tended to raise fibers from the fabric of the top. I was able to shave off most of the raised fibers using a sweater shaver but when I do this again in the spring I'm going to simply use the steam nozzle in combination with my regular Ragg Topp brush to avoid the problem.

I have a PCR and the exact same thing a couple of years ago and it still looks pretty good. I noticed my threads in the top edging above the door ar beginning to break.
I assume that may be from previous owner using too much bleach.

Haven't heard anything lately but hope Hartz still makes the convertible tops.

The car was about 4 years when I bought it and back then the top didn't look all that good.

I don't know that Haartz makes the tops since the fabric itself is their specialty. The tops are made by companies here in the states and they'll use Haartz fabric if you insist... if they are still in the business. Haven't researched them lately.

Thanks Dot; A shop here that specializes in rag tops and antique upholstery told me they got the top from Hartz and i got the impression it came ready made, but my impression may have been wrong. Actually if my edge binding at openings could be resewn I would be in good shape.

                From Haartz website.
Haartz is a supplier of topping fabrics only.
Haartz does not produce finished tops.

Did a quick search. TopsOnLIne sells ready-made tops from two different brands. Both brands use the Haartz Stayfast fabric in making their 2002-2005 softtops. They also sell parts related to the softtops. It's a place to check out. Your local top shop would be wise to buy a ready made top but I don't have experience with the tops made by either brand they sell, other than they've been around for years.
