    David,

I just looked it up. It's called the Vehicle Protection Plan. Good luck!

I promised an update on dashboard light problem. I just found out that the issue is a computer monitor module. Parts and labor run about $1000-$1100. Hope this helps anyone who is also having the same problem. Fonzarelli's (my repair place) is contacting AAA to see if this is covered under my protection plan. It should be. I'll update again when I find out more about availability of the parts and the actual cost of parts/labor to fix it.

Randall, sorry I can't be of help since I'm still searching for the problem with my dashboard lights. So thank you Bill for the info on these modules! My repair guy says it is the module, but he's running some tests to see exactly which one. Your post is so valuable, Bill. I'm sure almost everyone is going to need help with modules sooner or later.

                Hi, Gregg,

Yes, but it wasn't covered by my AAA warranty as AAA considers anything to do with lights as maintenance. The problem was a computer module that had to be replaced. Once it was fixed, I had to reset all the windows as they wouldn't close all the way up when the doors were opened then shut. But that was pretty easy to do. Just hold the up switch for about ten seconds, then the down switch for about the same. And it all went back to normal. Hope this helps.

And sorry for the delay to get back to you, we've been on the road these last two days.

Thanks, Doc !!! I AM NOT ALONE !!! Last week, I drove my T-bird at night, the first time at night since my stroke in June. I turned on the headlights and the dashboard lights went off! I was in a panic. I got to where I was going and did my appointment. Before starting back home, I was determined to figure out what was wrong. I even called Dave, but he wasn't home. Finally, I tried the rheostat switch. That was it !! Somehow, I had turned it off. That said, the lights would come on until I turned on the headlights.

Nothing new here: I grew up with British cars and Lucas electronics. Geez, I love my car - I just wish I could remember how to drive it.

I'm so happy to hear that everything worked out well for you, George. And I hope you are recovering from your stroke.

I too am used to British cars and the trouble with electronics. Oh well, our T-Birds do have some Jaguar DNA.
