    WOW...last time I saw something this bad was on a friend's car here in Phoenix - he'd regularly used a "conditioner" on his dash that prematurely dried out the plastic.

    Here's another view of this Bird's cracked dash from the passenger side:

      Sun is brutal on everything. Almost looks like something pressed down on it to make that crease.

          I've used a black dashboard mat from day one. Dash looks like new, and the reduction in glare is dramatic.

            Cracked and faded dashboards used to be a common sight back in the 70's and 80's especially here in the southwest. Not really a common occurrence anymore which I attributed to better quality materials used by auto manufacturers.
