I replaced my whole system with one I bought from a fellow member when it went haywire. Last year the control knob went crazy, coming on loud and getting louder. I had to use the buttons on the steering wheel. I went to a specialist who offered to install a unit with everything including a GPS and backup camera for $800. I almost went for it until a mechanic told me to get some contact cleaner from Home Depot, pull off the knob and squirt the stuff in, put the know back on and twist it a few times. I couldn't get the know off so I just squirted the stuff around the edges and it did the trick.
