If anyone has access to a drag strip in the Midwest I think I have a way to settle the debate on whether a 2002 or 2003-05 is faster. I now have a 2002 and a 2003 100% stock Thunderbirds. Since they are both red we wouldn't have to address the "which color is the fastest" issue. I also have twin 19 year olds that would be more than willing to drive the cars.

Depends which project, not sure if the salvaged one will ever make it back on the road. My son bought the 2003 that was for sale in South Carolina. Valve cover gaskets, fuses, battery and hopefully fixed the COP issue this weekend with Gobirds advice. Had no heat when we got it, Replaced the dual zone valve twice and now we have full heat (ALL THE TIME). The shop manual diagnostics for that issue is several pages long so it may take some time (or assistance from the shop). The soft top is shot, have a line on one from a fellow TBN'er on the east coast just waiting on the weather to break (need to figure out if it would be easy enough for the kids to drive the Tbird there and install the top on location). The main aesthetic issue is that the clear-coat is shot, haven't read anyway to fix other than a repaint. My son is fine with it for now so he doesn't have to worry about where he parks it (like me with mine). If I can get it running reliably I may deliver it to University of Dayton in case you need anything delivered to Ohio.Originally posted by wcoates View Post

Perhaps he can have it "wrapped". Not sure what it would cost, hopefully less than a decent repaint.Originally posted by Brad View Post
