When car became just a summer driver I knew I'd rarely have the hard top on.
Offered it for sale and had a legitimate $1000 offer from a new owner. (who was very understanding when I told him I changed mind!)
TBNers said I was wrong. (Greg led that charge). Local car buddies said I was crazy. Even wife and children said NO, no dad! Son even sent $1000 check (no never cashed) for the top. (Guess he thinks he'll someday get the car.) Car sits in storage with top on. Did drive to the Big Teasy with top on. More quiet than soft top and comments on top at each filling station stop..
$1000+ still a possibility and the research I did indicated that a difference in trade-in with the HT was only $500.
Some know we have a Facsimile window sticker available to members as a freebe. Different years for the most part have HT price rolled into base. When listed as an option on some it showed a $2,500 add. The $5,000 number we hear I believe might have had to do with dealer installed option.
