$40 for the digital version isn't that bad when you consider he doesn't charge "delivery" when you download it. My guess this is little more that a sales brochure featuring his accessories - he might also include some tips he copied from TBN. I hope he didn't break any copyright laws. Mike posted a review of this "book" two weeks ago http://www.thunderbirdnest.com/forum...your-resources.Originally posted by wcoates View PostGreg at $60, I'll take a pass. A $40 digital version ?????

The book really isn't aimed at TBN long standing Retro owners so your mis-placed remarks don't accomplish much.
Long standing TBN members probably know all that is in the book, some may know more, some may have forgotten some of the stuff on the book, but know how to search out the information they need.
Second & third maybe there is fourth owners at the rate these Retro's are being turned over, these are the ones who will gain the most from the book. A lot of these new owners are not on TBN but do search the inter-net for information, parts & accessories. These are the folks the book will help the most.
The book doesn't have smart ass remarks. No sarcasm so it is a refreshing read compared to many of the snarky posts found on TBN. The book just contains information that is Retro related as well as general no nonsense tips that have been time proven by the many many highly informative posts on TBN.
It also contains sources for parts & accessories, mytbird.com is only one of the many listed.

If Phil wrote it himself, I'm sure it is well written as he is an excellent wordsmith. There are a lot of things said about Phil pro and con, some probably deserved and some not. When we met him once, he was very pleasant and fun to talk to, just like virtually everyone else I've met face to face from TBN. While his prices on his website are/seem exorbitant, he has often been very generous with individual members here. In the end, we all just have to decide if we want to buy what he is selling.21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !

I like(d) Phil...he was always generous in his discussions with me and was a gentleman in his comments about others. I realize some on the site have a problem with him due to pricing, etc., but I never found that to be true. I miss him - wish he'd come back. IMO, he added value to TBN just by being here.
