  • Retro bird magazine article

A couple years old but worthy of reading. Found this on another Tbird group site and thought I’d share.

It is clear I do not know how to post an item in the proper place, hence the title of the “How to use the Website” is not where this post should be. Maybe Admin can move it to the proper area.

being a retired mailman(postal worker for you politically correct types) I would have a blast with a RHD.

I noticed something on my trip to Cali 3 yrs ago. One older American gentlemen commented on the car in eastern Cali but when we got on the coast I only had Aisians and some middle eastern types look at it and commenting and probably wondering what it was.

If the steering wheel is on the right-hand side as shown, is the car LHD as he labels it? He also mixes up "deluxe" & "premium," writing that the deluxe has both the cloth top & the porthole hardtop, while the premium gives up the hardtop. Finally, his specs list for his '02 lists 16" wheels/tires. Or are they "tyres"?. Other than that, it's a pleasing article. -----Will or (Wyll)

It is a right hand drive conversion. I recall a similar or the same article from several years ago as the article was written in 2015. Read far enough and it is located in New Zealand.

The Premium is a more expensive automobile than the Deluxe and the hardtop was available on both Premium and Deluxe.

also noted that soft top closure was incorrect it said that the key for hard top was needed to close the soft top .even stated that a more conventional latch system would be better.
actually freaked me out a bit as a new owner in December I have not had the hard top off yet.and did not know how the soft top latched. reading it and watching it 2 different things.
googled it .I am much better now

I think that he wanted the hardtop to have a latch system like the soft top.

I hope that is the thought.just was not worded that way. I even reread it to make sure I was not making myself look more foolish than I already am

I agree. That's the way I read it. And the "key" he refers to is evidently what they call our 40mm torx tool down under. ---Will
