  • Tail lights keep glowing

Last night I noticed that the taillights of my 2002 continued to faintly glow for a while after we got home after dinner.

    Is that normal?

    Thanks!

I'm guessing someone installed LED bulbs. Some LEDs do glow for awhile after the engine is turned off.

Hadn't thought of that. Okay, makes sense.

I guess I'll live with it for now. Kinda eerie though...

Yes, my LED tail lights glow for awhile after being turned off. Of course, I installed the WRONG bulbs, so my "Bulb Out" light stays on.

I don't know if this is related but when I close the trunk the tail lights flash.

not related but has to do with your alarm system and your timing on opening or closing doors & trunk in the lock mode. I never remember exactly the sequence as it only happens occasionally to mine.

Ric all my lights are LED except the interior trunk light. Cannot remember why?

Normal residual capacitance in stereo amplifier back-feeding the taillight circuit. LED bulbs take a while to drain the circuit. Not a problem.
