Nothing wrong with me, wrong with me, wrong with me ...

I kept getting error messages like it wasn't posting. Obviously, that wasn't correct.

Moving on... Here's some more photos from Chicago of that Black concept.

It came with a hardtop. It's being put on. Guess they're a little out of order.

You can read more information on the concept if you go to the " Thunderbird Registry " site and look up entry # 40090 . One of the three concepts introduced in 1999 and based on the Lincoln LS platforms . All three have Lincoln VIN's . There was a Yellow, Red , and this Black one . The red one was later changed over to the "Sport Roadster " .

Unfortunately, the beautiful red interior in the black concept car did not hold up well to time & the elements. Note the faded dash and the fallen faux glove compartment door.

Also note that the ever popular "aluminum" center stack has a cassette player slot instead of one for CDs and it does not have sun visors. I can't decide if I like the three spoke steering wheel or not.

I found this 03 out of Calif whose red interior has also taken a beating...looks like it was left exposed to the sun too long.

Red has always been susceptible to fading more than other colors.

Have even more pics of this one but the caretakers were really careful with the car the year it was introduced>

It was showing some signs of wear and tear by then. They were trying to sell it at that time. It is not shown on their website currently, so perhaps they did more. As Dot posts her pictures, I'll see if mine taken 14 years later can shed any more light on the subject. I know one thing this was the color combination

There is a classic car dealer next door to the museum. It has the concept on their web site still listed for the same $195,000 that we'd seen before. Think it even shares the same address.

I know the car can not be registered and all the knobs etc were dummies, but did the engine function? Was the concept drivable?

I think they’ll be waiting a long time trying to get $195K. Then again it only takes one buyer with more money than brains.
