I agree, but different strokes --- etc. ------ etc

    P. S. The seats look all white??? and chrome scoop & a billet grill, which look great.

if it is hardtop season it would be cool to let some of the outside in through the roof on an unseasonable nice day. I like it(but I don't care about stock either)of course the only one it really matters to is the owner
      figured I needed something here

I bought a used one about 6 years ago. The wind noise was horrendous and it potentially leaked as well once the seals dried out. There was no interior cover so the heat generated bu the sun was bad as well. A terrible ideal

The black with sand is a nice combination. I would have no interest in a sun roof.

I sure don't like it either Rick. Only way it makes sense to me is about an owner that can say "It's the only one like it". Sorta like the guy that put portholes in his convertible top.

Like the first Ford Skyliner in 1954 with the plexiglass roof over the front seat. They made some Mercury models too, Sun Valleys as I recall, really didn't think that idea through.

Reminds me of "Annie" my first Tbird. I bought it with around 10,000 miles on it in 2006. Sold it last year with 104,000.

                        Yes, Sun Valleys. 54/55/56

Though it probably didn't make that much of a difference, the plexiglass was tinted green.

Were the 55/56 Ford Crown Vics with the roof band actually 2 dr sedans? The regular 55 Vic had a different roof style, no band, a true 2 dr hardtop. The 56 Vic had the lower roof minus the roof band. The 56 was a very good looking car. IMHO, nicer than the BelAir.

I owned a 55 Ford convert. Everything just fell apart, and I fair swapped it for a 54 Olds 88 2 dr sedan 3 sp column shift. Another clunker.

The expert on Ford Crown Victoria models is Ron McCloud, (4LOWBIRDS+8). I used to think that the Crowns were just like the regular Victorias with just a Chrome piece added. Ron said they have a totally different roof, who knew. And no they were not just 2 dr. sedans either.

This is true for the 1955's. However the 1956 Victorias share windshields and roofs with the Crowns. Same story for the Mercurys.

Technically, doesn't the definition of a hardtop mean an open area from the windshield post to the rear roof line? The Crown Vic's doors didn't have a post, but the car didn't have the hardtop expanse.

Also, did the Crown Vic rear side windows retract? I don't remember.

                              Kind of a mixed breed.
