Recently I have been smelling raw gas odor in the cabin when I'm driving and in the garage, if I leave the car running for a minute. I have not seen any gas leaking onto the concrete. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before I take it to mechanic.

Whoa, it sounds like your gas tank is leaking on top where the fuel tank vent line leaves the tank. The fuel tank vent line connection is on top of the tank.
We had the same problem with our 2004 Expedition last August. Fuel was leaking from the top of the tank when I filled it completely full. No gasoline was ever found on the floor of our garage. Gasoline smell was extremely strong in the garage. Wife was complaining about the smell. She did not like driving it that way.
Dealer's tech found the leak. But, they would only change out the tank for a new one. However, there were no new tanks to be found in the USA since they were out of production for many years. They found a good used tank, which they installed under our ESP. Wife said that was not acceptable, so we traded it in for a new 2017 Explorer XLT. Our Explorer salesman bought the old Expedition from the dealer's stock.Jerry & Kim's

Was not thinking about top of tank. Have to check it. Been too hot here to even think about searching for cause.Originally posted by SugarDaddy View PostWhoa, it sounds like your gas tank is leaking on top where the fuel tank vent line leaves the tank. I had stress cracks on top of the fuel tank. Ford blamed it on the Borla installers. There are not any new replacement tanks to be found. They pulled the tank and used some type of epoxy to repair the cracks. I didn't know it was leaking but the check engine light indicated a pressure leak in the fuel system.
Note: I tried to attach a document and apparently it not working. Please skip that part.
