Bad news turned good. Just thought I'd pass this on. A few weeks ago I had the car in for an oil change. My mechanic has assured me that the car is in great shape and he has done all sorts of preventative maintenance on it over the years. The day I drove the car to his shop I noticed the steering wheel was not straight, slightly off to the right. By the time I got to his shop the wheel was at a ninety degree angle. It drove fine but when he looked at it he found that a camber bolt had been sheared off and he couldn't do that kind of work because it called for new parts and realignment. He said I had hit something perhaps long ago and the bolt finally gave way. There was no tire wear since it had just happened. I took the car to Pep Boys and they ended up replacing both front camber bolts. It cost almost $400.00. I can't tell you how much better the car drove after all that work was done. I'm sending this because I had noticed that the front end of the car seemed noisier before the work was done and it had a sort of loose feeling although there was no tire damage. Cars do wear out over time and I just put it down to wear and tear......but the car drives like a new one now....so, camber bolt replacement is something I never heard of but the replacement is great.
