  • Dash lights

Last night driving home, I noticed that the dash light flickered on and off. Speedometer, tach etc were normal. Headlights were also normal. Just the lights in the dash, steering wheel and lights for the heated seats flickered on and off. Wondered if anyone out there experienced the same problem? Appreciate the feedback.

    Bad Battery or Alternator?

Check your alternator output voltage (using a voltmeter) at the battery with the engine running, headlights on and the AC operating at full blast. It should be charging the battery with at least 13.8 to 14.0 volts under these conditions.

We are on our 3rd alternator now. First one replaced in 2010, second replaced in 2016.

Thanks. Hadn’t thought of that. Will try your suggestion.

Checked the voltage and it read 14 volts. Not the alternator. Cleaned the thumb switch and headlight switch with contact cleaner and we will see. Thanks for the tip.
