My 2005 Thunderbird radio on AM has a chirp in it and it gets worse when I go under a bridge. Any suggestions

AM signals are much more susceptible to noise than FM signals. General noise is found across all frequencies and will add/subtract from the amplitude of a given signal and affects the sound you are hearing on AM (amplitude modulation). FM (frequency modulation) signals are not affected by changes in the amplitude. You hear more noise when you have signals bouncing around structures (like buildings and bridges).
