  • Can't post pic!

Took a really nice pic of my Winter Whisper White but can't post it because this damn Google uses HTML and our TBN does not use HTML. I am not very computer savvy so I can't figure out how or even if it is possible to change an HTML to another type. Oh Well

Dan, HTML means hyper text markup language and is used to create web pages, which includes TBN. Is your picture in your computer now? If you right click on it, it will show you what sort of image it is: GIF, JPEG, etc.

Click on the camera icon above where you type a message, click on upload, it will then probably go to your pictures file. If you have it saved somewhere else, you will need to go there to find your picture. Click on the picture, then click on continue.

Hello Dan, There are a couple of quick easy ways to convert an HTML file displayed on your desktop screen depending on which version of windows you are using such as windows 7,8, or 10. All involve a technique called screenshot which simply makes a copy of what is shown on your screen and saves it to a background storage area called the clipboard or a folder in your picture file called screenshots. Let me know which windows you are running and I will give you a detailed step by step on how to make the conversion into a .jpeg or .png so that you can share it. -- Jim D.

Well folks - this is the banner I get when I try to do the photo upload - " This is not a valid image file." When I do a "save as" hoping to get a list of options like jpg or pdf the only options I get are HTML and "all files". No jpeg or pdf ??

Let's start at the beginning, Dan. Where is your picture located on your computer, and what sort of image is it, i.e., GIF, JPEG, etc.? Once we know that, it will be easy to walk you through this.

Dan, whenever I post a pic that I've taken, I find the photo either has a jpeg format or sometimes a png format...I have tried loading pdf's and some jpeg formats that are simply too large (the program will tell you immediately if it is), and then can't upload them. I recently tried to start a thread from an article on Ford's first sports car made from an older "Collector Cars" magazine, but it went beyond the size limit for loading, so I abandoned the effort.

Get your photo, and then use the upload attachment (see below) to link it to the post.

This link will take you to the storage area for your computer's hard drive (or thumb drive if that's what you're using), and then you simply hit "upload attachments", choose the photo you're wanting, choose the size you want to post, and bada boom, bada bing - you have it.

I don’t think that the Bada Bing opens up until 2:00 PM on Sunday. Bergen County blue laws.

Since you are getting an "html or all files", click on the "all files" and it should come up with a list of file types for you to select. Check the file type of the photo first though so you know what type of file your picture has been saved as on your computer.

If you're getting that yellow banner that says "error, invalid request", dont' worry, click on the "ok" button, and just continue with the upload and the banner disappears. of course if it says it's invalid image file, make sure you have a .jpg, png, or gif filetype as other's have said. pdf's don't work.

ps, I'd remove the picture above but still haven't figured out how to delete them once they're on the site. Just needed to use it to get the error banner I get to show up.

I think I got it working. Just to say it was about -20 on the day this pic was taken. And, yes these cars will start and run with snow on snow ground and mercury well below zero.

PS: a big thank you to all those responding to my plea for help.
