2005 Cashmere--heavy rattle on left side on bumps, also heavy rattle directly behind me occasionally. Any ideas?

My first guess would be suspension, or exhaust issue. If you have original bushings and ball joints I would think
they may be getting close to replacement time.

Suspension bushings. I'll bet if you look at them, they will be virtually destroyed.

See if the rattles are still there with the top off.

Put it on a hoist and get the shop to torque the bolts on the two X frames. That happened to my 2005 and it was driving me nuts trying to find the cause. The X frame bolts loosen over time if they are not torqued properly and they make a heck of noisy rattle. By the way, in 104,000 miles I never had any suspension issues but I did have to replace the front struts at about 90,000 miles and the driver's side rear wheel bearings at 103,000.

That was my thought as well, Cal.

Thank you all for the advice. Haven't had a chance to implement any of suggestions so far, but about to repair front and rear suspensions.
