Not having the K&N CAI makes a lot of cutting the Jag cover to fit. Not sure how it's going to look with the factory unit. Much bulkier at the front of the engine.
Dave when three great T-Bird minds get together ahh err ok Stewart Weir's great T-Bird mind and Me and Greg Nelson along for the ride, these are the conclusions that we made:
1.) if you have the K & N CAI the cover will fit fine. Mounting holes won't match up but the oil filler opening/cap lines up and will hold the cover in place.
2.) if you have not replaced the OEM items with the K & N then you will have to make some minor modifications. (meaning cutting away a bit of plastic.)
We tried the cover on Stewart's car with K & N and Greg's without to come to these conclusions.
I can't get my head around the urge to put a Jag emlem on the engine. That engine was developed by Ford, when it owned Jaguar. So the Jags had Ford engines, not vice-versa...

Ted I agree completely but I do like the look. Hoping my hole saw will take out the Jag emblem and leave enough of a lip to attach a T-Bird emblem if I can find the right size.
Greg didn’t Stewart put a Bird emblem on your Jag cover? Send me a picture and I’ll post it..

Bill,
Could you dremel it down smooth, drill a hole in it, then attach a TBN grille badge? Might have to cut off part of the post on the badge. I think that would look good and tie it back to Thunderbird instead of Jag.

Paul that is something to think about. I will get serious about getting that cleared up as friends have recently suggested that I bring the Bird to a local weekly informal drive in, show and shine type event that has 50 to 60 cars that show up but never a retro. Time to get the-framed facsimile window stIckes, the folding chair and the mask out and start answering what I hope will be many questions.
Along the lines of this thread, I bought a $45 Lincoln cover that I’ve never opened the box. That certainly needs corrected also. Does anyone who went the Lincoln route know the size of an emblem required to replace the Lincoln portion with a Ford/Thunderbird emblem?
