Saturday (03/02/19) Margaret got a call from Roger (Vintage Merlot). He asked if we were free on Sunday (03/03/19). Margaret told him that Sunday was a dialysis free day and that we had absolutely nothing to do. He then told Margaret that he and Bonnie (I Got Shotgun!) would see us about 11:00 AM Sunday morning.

Sure enough, 11:00 got here and Roger and Bonnie pulled into the driveway. We went inside and chatted a while until it was time to eat. We went to the "Pelican Cove" which is on the Rez close to us. We ate and got out of there because the dinner music was too, too loud. Around 3:00 PM Roger and Bonnie headed back to NO.

I'm making this post because their visit meant so much to us. All during 2018 I was confined to a wheel chair indoors. The only times I got outside were to go to the doctor or the hospital. Never went out to eat in a nice restaurant. Margaret always called the order in and had it delivered. The same thing is happening in 2019.

The point of my rambling is to relate how TBN has provided a means to make lifelong friends over the years. Roger and Bonnie did not visit us because they were passing thru, they planned the 200 mile + or - to come see us. They helped Margaret get me in and out of the restaurant. They made me realize that I can get out even though I'm in a wheel chair.

Thank you Roger and Bonnie. Your visit means so much to us.

Great story and more evidence why TBN has been so important to us all over the past 17 years. The friendships we have made make the car itself pale in comparison.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Charlie. You both are dearly loved, not only by those you've traveled with but also by those of us who've never met you face-to-face.

Great story! As Tom Aglio says "IT'S NOT ABOUT THE CARS - IT'S ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO DRIVE THEM" And this is a fine example!

This story has truly inspired me. So much so that I have decided to accept anyone's offer who would like to drive to somewhere near my part of New Jersey and take me out to dinner. Doesn't matter if we have met or not..... new friends are fun also. Even if I have already eaten I will gladly dine again.....
