Oil Pan leak

Has anyone replaced the oil pan gasket on a retro bird, the pan look flat, did the engine have to be lifted to clear the bar under the pan?

I changed the gasket on my LS years ago. Did not have to lift the motor. If I remember correctly, the gasket was "grooved", and the screws/bolts had to be tightened in a certain sequence.
