How about this one: Steuerundbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung This is the German word for a Tax clearance certificate, proving that if you are a foreigner working for a wage you have paid your income tax before leaving the country. When I traveled to Germany with a German Singing society that had many German citizens in the club, I got a letter. In the letter it said I had to bring this with me to the airport but since I was an American citizen, I didn't need it!

Svalov reminds me of the area where my cousins live in Halland. Very agricultural and many two lane highways. I wish I had stayed in touch with Store and Goste Johansson over the years, their children are probably in their 50s now. My one and only visit with the family was in 1964. And yes, as you pointed out it was Ahs Kloster. A with the little "O" above it. My computer keyboard doesn't make umlauts.

The law about surname changing was passed in the 1930s so they probably remained Johansson, but otherwise when my Uncle Karl died they would have probably changed their surname again to "Karlsson".

Calvin, on My Way home from Gothenburg i passed Halland, I tought I was in the village your relatives lived in so I took some photos but when I looked at the forum to double check so was I in wrong village so here is some photos from Ĺsa Fjärĺs in Halland taken thrue the car window

I remember my Father talking about going to Falkenberg when he was living in Ahs Kloster. Some day I need to visit my Grandparents homeland, my Grandfather on my Mother's side was from Sandnes, Norway. A strange mixture 1/2 Swedish 1/2 Norsk me. I took a DNA test with Ancestry.com and they said I was 99% Scandinavian and 1% Irish. They blamed the shared Irish DNA on our ancestral Vikings!
