Convertible Top Dye

Anyone ever used this? Reviews are strong but the skeptic that I am almost puts into "the too good to be true category".

FOREVER....Note that on the back of the package it states :It Lasts 12 Months. In watching the Youtube video I am guessing it is difficult to get a smooth application and you will end up having dull and shinny areas

You could contact Haartz Auto Top, the makers of the fabric for our Retro's soft top.
Ask & see what they recommend. I have contacted them with different inquires, very helpful.

I'd go with whatever brand Ron used on his pink car. It came out looking very good and it was an actual color change. Black on faded black should be easier.

Hi All

This product is for VINYL tops only.

I once had a black top that I used a black fabric dye on. it did work. Note: be sure your waterproofing treatment is removed if you are going to dye your roof with a fabric dye!!

Re: dying top!


There is a Company called Color-Glo that does repairs and dying of tops and carpets. I believe they are a national chain. If not consult google or the Yellow pages for vinyl repair shops. They will spray apply a color as opposed to brushing. This will give an even color.
