The auction was televised live tonight. A 2002 bird sold for $18,500. It was a black on black, nice but nothing special. I did not catch the mileage, but it was a daily driver. I thought that was a really good price. Maybe these cars are starting to hold and/or gain value.

That was an outlier, usually even low mileage 2002 EB Birds don't bring that price at an Auction. There was also a $1850 buyers commission on top of the $18,500 for a total of $20,350 ! A couple years ago I saw a WW go for a $20,000 price too, and it had even been in an accident and the white paint wasn't a perfect match. Getting the right buyer is the reason. Believe it or not the auction companies do use shills at times if they aren't getting offers. I've seen bids televised then lowered when no one bids higher, then back to the real bids, then sold. Yesterdays auction of the DeLorean was an example, there was a bogus $30,000 bid, then the auctioneer asked for $35,000. Couldn't get it, then the bid was lowered back to a real $20,000 and the car was sold.Originally posted by BillyL View PostThe auction was televised live tonight. A 2002 bird sold for $18,500.
